In short
- Cookies that are strictly necessary are always active, because the site cannot function without them
- Everything else runs only after you accept, and you can change your decision at any moment
- We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not sell the data they generate
This summary is written for convenience and has no legal effect. The sections below govern
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On a later visit the site can read it back. Cookies cannot run programs, and they cannot read anything else on your device
We use the word cookie throughout this policy to cover equivalent technologies as well, including local storage, session storage and tracking pixels, since the law treats them the same way
Who sets them here
- First-party cookies are set by souqoconnect.com itself and are read only by us
- Third-party cookies are set by a provider we use, and that provider is identified in the table below
Cookies are also distinguished by how long they last. A session cookie is deleted when you close the browser. A persistent cookie survives until it expires or until you delete it
What we use
Strictly necessary
These make the site work. They cannot be switched off, and under Article 22.2 of the Spanish Information Society Services Act they do not require consent
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sc_session | SouqoConnect | Maintains your session while you move between pages and while you are signed in | Session |
| sc_csrf | SouqoConnect | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery | Session |
| sc_consent | SouqoConnect | Records the cookie choice you made, so that we do not ask again on every page | 12 months |
Preference
These remember choices you have made, so the interface behaves the way you left it. They run only if you accept them
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sc_lang | SouqoConnect | Remembers whether you chose Spanish, French, Arabic or English | 12 months |
Analytics
These count visits and show us which pages are read, in aggregate. They run only if you accept them, and we configure them so that IP addresses are truncated before storage
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| analytics cookie names | analytics provider | Measures visits, pages viewed and the route taken through the site, without identifying you | Up to 13 months |
Consent and legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are installed on the basis of the exemption in Article 22.2 of Ley 34/2002, because they are indispensable to providing a service you have expressly requested
Every other cookie is installed only on the basis of your consent, given by an unambiguous affirmative action, in line with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. Continuing to browse is not treated as consent, and no non-essential cookie is set before you choose
Consent is recorded for a maximum of 24 months, after which we ask again. You may withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it, using the panel in the next section
Your preferences
Set your choice below. It takes effect immediately and applies to this browser on this device
Session handling, form protection and the record of this very choice. The site does not work without them
Always activeRemembers the interface language you selected, so you do not set it again on every visit
Counts visits and pages read, in aggregate and with truncated IP addresses, so we know which parts of the site are useful
Managing cookies in your browser
Your browser can block or delete cookies independently of the panel above. The setting is normally found here
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage website data
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode, which discards cookies when the window is closed
If you refuse
Refusing preference and analytics cookies costs you nothing. The site works in full, every page remains readable and every form remains usable
The only practical difference is that the interface will not remember your language between visits, and our own view of which pages are read becomes less accurate. Blocking strictly necessary cookies at browser level will, however, prevent signing in and submitting forms
Changes
We update this policy whenever the cookies in use change. The version and date at the top of the page identify the text in force, and a material change resets consent so that you are asked again
